98% of attendees agreed that:

•The program met the stated objective
•The program met their educational needs
•The program content can be incorporated into work
•They would attend another course by this sponsor

97% of attendees agreed that the content covered topics adequately

An overwhelming number of attendees gave high grades to and enthusiastic remarks about the speakers. They enjoyed the “animation” in the speaker presentations and felt they were informative, knowledgeable and entertaining, which kept things interesting and moving at a fast pace. They appreciated the interaction between staff and audience and they appreciated the fact the faculty was approachable. There was a nice balance of topic matter and different presentation methods. They realized that their problems aren’t unique and their issues were addressed with helpful solutions to troubleshoot situations. It brought clarity to their questions and gave them a concrete block of ideas/facts to draw on. The attendees also thought the toolkit was very helpful.

The audience also felt that it was well-organized and, therefore, very effective; however, they felt that, in some cases, there wasn’t enough time allotted to cover the material. They would have liked more in-depth discussion on some topics as well as time allotted to a Q&A period at the end of the presentations.

They wanted more programming such as this and suggested that the following topics be considered if we were to hold more sessions:

PCRs – Proper usage and personnel files
On-scene conflict resolution
Member retention
Workshops designed to help learn step-by-step
Epidemiology, WMD, Haz-Mat awareness and requirements.
Dealing with difficult employees – people skills
Operational-specific topics such as Triage, EMS Command, Transportation Officer.
Continue exploring leadership issues within the agency.
Going above & beyond DOH policy. Better understanding of DOH policy and procedures.
Recruitment & Retention
Bridging the ER/Squad gap. Paid vs. volunteer squad gap
What do we do with unconcerned medical directors?
