Catskill Hudson AHEC sponsors programs that train healthcare professionals, connect students enrolled in healthcare education programs with community-based training sites, sponsor and develop programs that expose and inform students and young adults about various careers in healthcare, promote healthcare awareness and develop program initiatives that address crucial local healthcare needs across our 11-county region.

Since our first year of operation, Catskill Hudson AHEC has funded 146 innovative and exciting educational programs.

• 345 medical and pre-med students and 953 nursing and health professions students were placed with 478 teachers at 129 community-based training sites.
• 15,917 young people, ages 10-17 received exposure to health careers and health professionals through interactive activities in career pipeline programs.
• 1,553 health professionals participated in Catskill Hudson AHEC-sponsored continuing education programs.

Of the eighteen programs that were funded during our 2006-2007 cycle, seven were healthcare education programs for students (K to College age), nine programs focused on continuing education and health professional workforce issues and two programs were medical training programs.

• Career Fitness Workshops.
• Exploring the Health Professions©.
